You copy the hotel address.
The map app also looks normal.
But when you arrive,
the hotel is not there.
From that moment,
the entire movement flow breaks.
Dragging luggage, searching again,
calling the hotel,
taking another taxi.
Time keeps leaking away.
This is not a map app issue.
It is about which address you used as the basis for movement.
Q. Do map apps really give wrong hotel locations that often?
A.
Much more often than expected. I used to think that once the address appeared in the map app, everything was finished.
I assumed copy-and-paste would always be accurate.
But once, abroad, I entered the hotel address exactly as written and arrived in a back alley behind the hotel.
The main entrance was on a completely different side.
The problem was the luggage.
I had to drag my suitcase all the way around again, and the roads were complicated.
What I realized was simple.
Even if the address is correct, the entrance may still be different.
So this is what I do.
I don’t only check the hotel address. I also confirm the actual entrance location.
Q. Why does this happen?
A.
Because the hotel address and the actual entrance location can be different.
This is especially common with large hotels or hotels connected to shopping malls.
Maps usually point to the center of the building, while the real vehicle drop-off point may be somewhere else.
Once, in Tokyo, I followed the hotel address and spent more than 20 minutes finding the entrance because of underground passageways.
That completely changed my criteria.
I stopped trusting only map addresses
and started checking official hotel guidance as well.
So this is what I do.
I also check entrance instructions on the hotel’s official site.
Q. Is it more dangerous when moving directly from the airport?
A.
Much more dangerous.
You are tired, carrying luggage, and unfamiliar with the local area.
In that state, even a small address mistake feels much larger.
Once, after arriving late at night, I got dropped at the wrong location and had to take another taxi.
The extra cost and time loss were significant.
What I realized was simple.
Right after arrival, movement accuracy matters much more.
So this is what I do.
Before leaving the airport, I save the hotel entrance location in advance.
Q. Can’t you just search the hotel name?
A.
That can also become risky.
Many hotels share the same brand name.
Especially chain hotels often have multiple branches inside one city.
Once, I accidentally traveled to a different branch of the same hotel brand.
I only realized it after arriving.
At that moment, extra transportation time was added again.
So this is what I do.
I verify the address and area, not only the hotel name.
Q. What preparation helps the most?
A.
Screenshots are the most practical solution.
If internet connection is weak or maps load slowly, searching again on-site becomes difficult.
Now, I save the hotel entrance photo, address, and entrance instructions in advance.
Once, I showed the entrance photo directly to a taxi driver and arrived immediately.
That solved the situation much faster.
So this is what I do.
I store key hotel information offline as well.
Q. What is the most common mistake people make?
A.
Trusting only one map app result.
I used to think that if the map showed a location, that was enough.
But in real travel, entrance access, vehicle drop-off points, and surrounding road structure all matter.
Especially late at night, even small differences become much larger.
So this is what I do.
I don’t finish hotel navigation with just one map result.
Q. Then how do you summarize the conclusion?
A.
It’s simple.
Even if the hotel address is correct,
the arrival point may still be wrong.
This is not a map issue.
It is an actual access route issue.
So this is what I do.
After booking a hotel, I also confirm the main entrance location and access route.
